Boss Babes Beat Belton — 100 Fish
CLIENTS: This morning, Friday, November 7, I fished with Corrective Chiropractic and Wellness of Harker Heights. Dr. Jason Degenhardt brought five of his office staff out for a morning of white bass fishing on Lake Belton. Of the five ladies, three had never fished before, and the other two had never fished for white bass, nor fished using the tactics we employed this morning.
Jason and I tried to set these ladies up for success by identifying ahead of time which side of the reel they needed their handle on, by having them practice holding a spinning rod before they arrived this morning, and by having them preview a YouTube tutorial video I put together about the smoking tactic we would be using this morning.
TODAY’S DATE: Friday, 07 November 2025 (PM)
NEXT OPEN DATE FOR FISHING: Tuesday, 12 November 2025 (AM or PM)

PHOTO CAPTION: From left: Leia Branch, Alice Gamberini, Darleen Alicea, Kristie Smonko, Taveonna Greene-Griffin, and Jason Degenhardt of Corrective Chiropractic and Wellness used the smoking retrieve with MAL Dense lures to make a 100-fish catch on Lake Belton this past Friday. Only the five ladies participated in the fishing, and three of them had never fished before.

WHERE WE FISHED: Lake Belton
SUMMARY OF HOW WE FISHED:
Once we got going around sunrise, we found fish in water under 22 feet in depth. At our first location, I had the ladies use their newly learned tactics and provided them with some coaching on how to get the MAL Dense Lures’ blades spinning consistently in a way attractive to the fish. By the time we left the first area we stopped at, everyone’s tactics were sound. After everyone had caught a few fish without the aid of Garmin LiveScope, I layered in the use of that technology to help them improve on their already solid technique. This morning, all but one of the areas we visited produced well, with action peaking between 8:45 AM and 10 AM.
I had everyone rigged up with the exact same equipment so everyone could treat their rods, reels, and lures as interchangeable parts. I had a 1000-series spinning reelswith a low, 5.2:1 gear ratio attached to an extra fast action St. Croix spinning rod, all terminated with MAL Dense Lures with silver blades, silver bodies, and chartreuse tales.
We used only that lure with only one tactic this morning – – the smoking tactic.
As we hit the four hour mark, the ladies had racked up a tally of 92 fish. With their permission, I extended the trip another 20 minutes until they had seen to it that our 100th fish came over the rail.
Of the 100 fish caught and released, 99 were white bass, with a single largemouth bass thrown in for good measure.
RESULTS: 100 fish, all caught and released
